YOU Chose to Disobey … YOU
have entered a Forbidden Area.
You could have browsed freely through endless other web pages, but you
decided to disobey. You have displayed a tendency to desire that which
is not allowed and is prohibited.
This situation is very similar to another incident …
God created a paradise for Adam and Eve to live, the first
human to live on the earth. They had the run of a beautiful garden, they
could do and
eat what they wanted … with just one rule that they must obey … they
were forbidden to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil.
But just like you decided to enter this web page, Adam and Eve sinned
by placing their desires above what God had told them and through this
act, sin entered the world.
All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3v23.
Sin brought a host of consequences, the most terrible was death. Sin brought
physical and spiritual death into the world and would eternally separate
mankind from God.
The wages of sin is death. Romans 6v23.
God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1John 1v51… He
could not allow sin into heaven.
Thankfully this is not the end of the story. God decided that
nobody should die forever and go to hell. But then again, He
couldn’t
just ignore sin.
O mighty God … Thou art of purer eyes than
to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity (sin). Habakkuk 1v12-13.
There still had to be punishment for sin. God provided
a way for them to repair their relationship with Him. A way for people’s sin to
be taken care of … He sent His only Son to earth to take the punishment
for sin.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3v16
Jesus came to the earth and lived as a human for 33 years. During that
time, He was tempted in every way imaginable, just like you and I are.
But Jesus was the only person ever to live who did not ever sin, not even
once.
Because Jesus was perfect and blameless, He alone was worthy to cleanse
us from our sins. And the only way He could do that was to die for us,
because the punishment for sin is death.
The shedding of the blood of Jesus on the cross is the only way that
our sins can be forgiven.
Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the cross, that we, being
dead to sins, should live unto righteousness. By Jesus’ lashes you
were healed.
(Jesus) his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree (cross),
that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes
ye were healed. 1 Peter 2:24
But Jesus dying was only half of his work of salvation. After he had been
dead for three days, Jesus came back to life. Jesus had conquered death,
hell, and the grave:
(Jesus speaking) I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am
alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation
1:18
GOD will save those who
want to be saved. He has called them to Him .
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Acts 16:31
To GET saved, then, is to be born again. You must repent of your sin and
believe the Lord Jesus died for your sins on the cross.
Admit that you are a sinner, deserving of hell. Ask God to forgive you
of your sin on the basis that His Son has taken the punishment already.
God is completely satisfied that your sin has been dealt with on the cross.
All He asks is you to be satisfied too! No need to add your works or religion.
Make Christ your personal Saviour. DO IT NOW!
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2
A Christian is not somebody who merely believes that Christ died
for our sins. The devil believes that. A Christian is somebody who has
repented of their sins and accepted Christ as their Saviour and Lord.
You can intellectually believe that an airplane can fly, but in
order to fly you must try out its wings. In the same way, when you
give your
heart to Jesus Christ, He takes control of your life and begins
to make you into the person He wants you to be. At the moment you trust
Christ
as your personal Saviour, you are eternally saved, eternally
secure, and God begins to work in you.
